whats up Rick, I found you on youtube by chance while looking up rain barrels… Talk soon.
I made 2 sets last year and left the water in them all these months. They are green inside. Is there anything else but clorox I can use to not get moldy inside them?
Do I have to empty them and clean them out or just add bleach? And how much in each?
One is bigger than the other-bought both rubber garbage cans at Walmart.
You can use the bleach. Or just empty them and open them up and leave them in the Sun.
Thanks for this video. I got me going on my rain barrel set I have 4-55gal food grade with a well sock filter and I can pump it out with a 12v RV water pump using my harborfreight panels. It waters my 20’x40′ garden and also can be purified for drinking and or used for toilet flushing in my Travel Trailer that relatives stay in when they are here.
Thanks for all the inspiration!!
Nice. I was going to shell out 90 bucks for a manufactured rain barrel. This will do the job. Never thought of a trash can!
Glad to help Ryan. We have several of these around our house and they have been in use for several years. We only water with rain water. Thanks for watching.
I really like all your videos ,man you are always in to a cool project . What do you do for tv service. And do you still use solar?
thanks for watching! We do still use the solar power. We use the lights every night. Right now we have only solar lights on. For TV service- do you mean are we on cable or satellite or such??
I recently built a rain barrel from an old food storage barrel. A buddy of mine got it for me, I attached a spigot to the bottom, cut a hole for the overflow, and it’s working great. The only problem is… I need about a dozen more to capture all of the rain! Your video really helped. Thanks so much,
This is a video of the large containers approx 275 gallons with 3 connected together.
